In this class you will learn to sketch and paint a simple floral pattern inspired by classical Indian Floral Designs in a very unique style.
We will cover the various steps involved in my process of creating these beautiful minimal floral patterns.
You will learn:
- How to gather material for inspiration
- Create stylized floral motifs and leaves for the pattern
- How to sketch the pattern layout
- Various ways to choose a colour palette for your patterns
- To paint the pattern using gouache paints
Who is this class for?
This is an intermediate to advanced level class primarily because it requires some sketching skill and a steady hand. However, don’t be discouraged to take it if you’re a beginner! I have included some free practice work sheets which are specially designed for beginners to practice and improve hand control! These are great exercises even if you’re not a beginner as you can use them to warm up before you start.
By the end of this class you will have a beautiful Indian floral pattern which you would’ve created from scratch and a good knowledge of the initial design development stages of creating a floral pattern.
