Hi! I’m Kerlyn! I have two cool dudes, one is thirty and the other is three! I am a firm believer in God and love his grace and goodness in my life. I rock boots all the time, hate my toes, constantly am wanting to chop my hair, and dig traveling with my tribe. My son has ASD (autism) and I am a passionate supporter of all his needs and cannot even begin to express how much he has inspired my work! I love The Office, indie folk + alternative music the most, and adore spontaneous moments. Life is messy and beautiful and I love telling those stories through visual art.
Some of the main questions I receive are about my editing, what do I use and how do I edit. So I’m going to share some of my tips with you!
– I use Lightroom for all my editing.
– I shoot AWB.
– I use presets to keep my work cohesive and to save time on editing.
– I am a preset hoarder, so I’ll use different presets for different sessions or different presets within one session depending on the light.
– I am drawn to earthier tones so when purchasing tools or presets I look for the colors that naturally occur in nature and one that keeps skin tones true to their color. I don’t want to use anything that will desaturate the earthy colors I love so much.
– I edit images on the warmer side, with a green or red tint in the shadows.
– Since I live in South Texas where fields of grass are lime green, I play with the green + yellow hue, saturation, and luminance.
I’ll be using LOAF by Tribe Archipelago (which I say wrong in both videos, even though I practiced a bazillion times!!!) in my editing videos. There isn’t an exact science to my editing because it depends greatly on the lighting and location of the session, but I hope some of these tips can help you!
