This video shows my process of retouching a headshot. Starting with a good quality image, I show you minor adjustments in Camera Raw, such as lifting shadows and maintaining a natural color histogram. The retouching techniques include frequency separation, inverse high pass for smoothing, reduction of blotchiness, under-eye enhancement, red-eye removal, teeth whitening, and texture layer adjustments with cloning for maximum detail. Additional steps involve dodging and burning to balance light and enhance facial features, along with careful attention to details like lip lines. The process emphasizes a balance between achieving a natural look and enhancing the subject’s appearance, with adjustments to opacity and layer effects to ensure subtlety.
