This course is designed for beginners who want to understand how real VFX studios approach compositing work using Foundry Nuke. You will not just learn tools, but also how to analyse a shot, plan a solution, and execute a clean result using industry-style workflows and disciplined node structures.
The course focuses on three core areas used daily in professional studios:
- Paint & Prep – Clean plate creation, shot cleanup, and consistency across frames
- Keying Fundamentals – Green/blue screen extraction, matte control, edge refinement basics
- Basic Compositing – Integrating elements, colour matching, merge logic, and final output delivery
You will learn how to:
- Think in a node-based workflow
- Organise scripts the way studios expect
- Maintain non-destructive work habits
- Avoid common beginner mistakes
- Deliver a clean, presentable final composite
All demonstrations use simple, beginner-friendly footage, making it easy to follow even if you are completely new to Nuke or node-based compositing. This course builds clarity before complexity. Instead of overwhelming you with advanced tricks, it strengthens your foundation so you understand why each step is done, not just how to click buttons.
By the end of this course, you will:
- Understand how professional VFX compositors approach shots
- Be confident working inside Nuke’s interface and node graph
- Create a complete beginner-level composite from start to finish
- Be prepared to move toward junior-level skill development
Important Note:
This is a foundation-level course. Advanced studio techniques, complex edge science, heavy CG compositing, and full production pipelines are intentionally not covered. Those skills are best learned through structured professional training, real projects, and mentorship.
If you are serious about starting your journey in VFX compositing and want to build a strong, realistic base, this course is the right place to begin.
