The course begins with a simple explanation of basic MRI physics so that even beginners can understand the concepts without needing an advanced background in radiology or physics.
You will first learn the essential principles behind MRI imaging, including T1 and T2 relaxation, which are the key mechanisms that create contrast in MRI images. The course explains how hydrogen protons in the body respond to a magnetic field and radiofrequency pulses. Important parameters such as TR (Repetition Time) and TE (Echo Time) will be explained in a simplified way so you can understand how these settings influence whether an image becomes T1-weighted or T2-weighted. This knowledge will help you quickly recognize different MRI sequences while reviewing brain scans.
After understanding the basics, the course covers the most important MRI sequences used in brain imaging. You will learn how to identify and interpret T1, T2, FLAIR, DWI, ADC, GRE, SWI, MRS, DTI, PWI, MRA, and MRV. Each sequence will be explained in a simple clinical context, focusing on what appears bright or dark and how that helps detect disease.
